At least twice a month Monjunis is a staple in our home. We love the sauce!!! Nothing like it. Try the mint tea also!
This is definitely a great place for Italian/Sicilian food. The decor is cozy and definitely feels like your in an eatery in Italy. Our waitress (the tall, pretty, red headed girl) was delightful! Friendly and on top of her job! The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful. I would definitely recommend giving this place your business. They are worthy of more than 5 stars!
I have not dined at Monjuni's since 1997 in the old location on Louisiana. I used to snag a muffeleta whenever I passed thru Shreveport. Lunch today was very good. The spaghetti with Italian sausage was very nearly as good as my father made. The salad was exceptional. I left Shreveport 54 years ago and rarely return. Eating here today brought back many fond memories.
One of my top 3 restaurants. From being greeted upon entry, to service, to food, it's all great. I'd highly recommend it for the entire family.
It doesn’t have to be so sweet! Excellent food and service!! So we had read the reviews and my hubby does not like sweet spaghetti so we mentioned that to the waitress. She explained that they have a basil marinara too that’s not sweet and more savory. She was amazing and said she would bring both with our bread so we could see which he liked better. The basil sauce was amazing with small chunks of tomatoes and delightful flavor. He loved the Italian sampler. He was able to get the spaghetti and Lasagna topped with the Basil sauce. I had the chicken Aurora and it too was amazing and super cheesy. Service was great. Was an hour drive, but we will definitely be making that trip again.

As incredibly delicious as ever! I'm not sure how, but the lasagna gets better every time I eat here. Unfortunately I don't live close anymore, but I make a point of stopping in every time I'm in town to visit family.
I love everything about Monjunis! I've never had anything bad, the eggplant Parmesan is always a favorite!
I had a great experience here. I stopped in for a quick lunch on a Saturday. Shreveport was under a boil notice, so my Diet Coke came in a bottle, no ice. The iced tea was unavailable too. No fault of theirs, likely due to the bad weather the week before. Crispy bread and marinara sauce arrived. It was sweet but lukewarm, which seemed odd. Still tasty, though. I ordered lasagna and it was delicious. Yes, their sauce is sweet. I love sweet sauce, so it was a hit for me. I wish I could have enjoyed more or taken it to go. My server was delightful, I wish I could remember her name.
I've been eating at Monjunis for at least 20 years. Their food and service are the reasons I return!
